Whether you stay in the Karoo Lodge, the Manor, or the Mountain Retreat, you'll be in friendly company. Enjoy being outnumbered by the amazing array of animals: buffalo graze on your front lawn as you enjoy morning coffee, a mother cheetah and her cubs regard you calmly on an afternoon walk, and a climb up the mountain reveals a view of the Karoo plains below, where zebra, springbok, wildebeest, and rhinoceros make their homes.
Take advantage of the knowledge of the rangers, who can ensure memorable wildlife encounters. Enjoy fantastic food, and decidedly un-rustic accommodation (air conditioning and fireplaces are standard here). You're sure to fall in love with this place, too.

The Samara Private Game Reserve is located in South Africa's Eastern Cape. At the junction of two of Conservation International's "global biodiversity hotspots," Samara is proud to be a leader in global conservation and ecological responsibility. Arrivals at the Port Elizabeth Airport from Johannesburg, Durban, or Cape Town can drive or prearrange a three-hour road transfer. The Samara also offers a private landing strip for direct charter to the lodge.
