You wake slowly in a white-walled, soothing room and take a few minutes to orient yourself. You are overcome by a sense of calm that began the moment a private car whisked you here from the airport yesterday.

Arriving at an entrance carved out of Santorini’s Caldera, your tense, tired muscles immediately began to unwind, and a sense of anticipation still sits in the pit of your stomach.

Mornings here are stunning, and you rouse yourself now and walk towards the light from your balcony, where your suite affords you views straight out over the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea. To either side of you are the volcanic rocks of the Caldera, and though you are only five kilometers away from Fira, the capital of Santorini, you feel worlds away from everything.

All of the accommodation choices at San Antonio are incredible, so choosing from a list of stupendous spaces – from the Classic Double Sea View to the Honeymoon Suite and Master Suite – was a difficult task.

Nestled between the colorful, picturesque villages of Oia and Imerovigli, San Antonio offers guests delicious dishes that will wow the pickiest “foodies” – not to mention those of us with high expectations in general.
