Built in 2003, the hotel takes its name from the lush, green island of San Clemente on which it completely covers. With spectacular views of Venice and its lagoon, the island was once a stopping-off point for soldiers and pilgrims on their way to the holy land, and later used to entertain guests of the state. Present-day guests can experience some of this history with a visit to the remarkable 12th-century church next to the hotel.

Of course, no visit to Venice would be complete without a picturesque gondola ride or a trip to the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica. For hotel guests, these and other attractions close are just a short boat ride away.
