Ranthambhore National Park may be one of the finest destinations in the entire world for viewing tigers in the wild, but don't think for a moment that it's limited in its charms. Sher Bagh, with its 12 bespoke tents, is set just thirty minutes from the park. Inside, you'll find Mughal and Rajput palaces, mosques, and temples - plus Ranthambhore Fort, one of the largest remaining walled citadels in all of India.
While out on safari by Jeep or horse, intrepid adventurers will find plenty of big cats, gazelle, Blue Bull, and various bird species. Stop for a picnic and make sure to ask the guides to spin a few yarns of their greatest safari experiences. Afterwards, your camera bulging with shots of sunrise, sunset, and everything in between, head back to camp and unwind.
Dinners at camp are made up of traditional Indian fare: hearty and exploding with regional spices. If you're looking for a more authentic setting, choose to dine outdoors by campfire. After a few tiger stories, guests may find themselves looking for glowing eyes in the trees.
Fear not though, as you retreat to your tent, safe and sound. A quick rinse in your marble and stone bathroom, and it's off to your teak and rosewood bead, where visions of tomorrow's sights dance through your head.
