We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.

The 10 spacious tents are constructed on top of boulders, reflecting the life of yesteryear’s wealthy explorers. Panoramic views look out onto otherworldly desert landscapes, while in-tent telescopes invite dreamy stargazing moments.
While the lodgings and amenities at Sonop at exquisite, perhaps the true appeal lies in the amazing location and wildlife. The 13,800 acre property plays host to leopards, hyenas, jackals and more. Exploring can be done from the comfort of a game vehicle, horseback or on foot. Zannier Sonop is located within a nature reserve on the Southern edge of the Namibian desert, in the Karas region. The camp has its own private airstrip, allowing guests to access the lodge from any African airport with small planes.
