Turkish Hamams
Formerly a distillery, Sumahan sits on the edges of the quaint fishing neighborhood of Cengelkoy, looking out directly onto the Bosporus. The hustle and bustle of downtown lie just brief ride across the water, cheerfully provided by the hotel's private ferry.
Historic Istanbul beckons with shopping, architecture, and cuisine, but savvy guests know to report to the hotel's Wellness Spa after their day of trekking. Here, the luxurious hamam (Turkish-style bath) elevates bathing to an art. Step inside for a brisk scrub followed by a foam massage to ease stress from tired muscles. Finish with a glass of mint-infused water, refreshed and ready for a gourmet seafood dinner at nearby Kordon.
The 20 lodgings are exquisitely modern, with remnants of the distillery's brick masonry still in place in many rooms. The Loft Suites are simply top-notch, with an elevated bed area and private hamam option. Sumahan on the Water is also proud to offer wheelchair accessibility to its guests.
