Dating back to 1927, Santiago's The Aubrey has been reborn as the region's first boutique hotel. Simple and loveable, the space now balances old and new on a tightrope of cool.

The Aubrey sets a high standard for other boutique hotels hoping to compete in Santiago.

Unfortunately for some historic structures, time has no mercy - nor can it be reasoned with. Luckily for The Aubrey, a passionate few stepped into the ring to battle the relentless weathering of the years, and earned an overwhelming victory.

Set in Parque Metropolitana just across the river from downtown Santiago, The Aubrey is one of those places that's close to everything, but just out of earshot from any bustle.

Each of the 15 rooms is individually-designed with modern shapes and bright pops of color. Expect airy spaces, free WiFi, LCD TV, and 300-thread-count sheets.

A perfect morning might include The Aubrey's fresh Brazilian breakfast followed by a dip in the outdoor spa pool. Your day is obviously up to you, but a walking tour through Santiago is highly recommended, as is a trip up Cerro San Cristobal to see the iconic statue of the Virgin Mary and enjoy stunning views of the city.
