If you've ever dreamed of immersing yourself in historic Mexico, look no further than Hacienda Santa Rosa. This 18th-century nobleman's estate has been perfectly restored, with ancient historic splendor bumping loving up against every conceivable modern luxury.
Bursting with colour inside and out, the hotel's 11 individually-decorated rooms feature 18-foot ceilings with exposed beams, traditional wrought-iron beds, tropical hardwood furnishings, and Mayan-influenced tile floors. Most suites boast private garden terraces, and some include their own private plunge pools.
The hotel's main pool is a work of art in itself. Mostly outdoor, the pool sits adjacent to the main building and flows through a row of huge curving archways into an indoor covered area as well. The hotel restaurant offers excellent food in a beautiful garden setting. The staff are happy to arrange excursions to nearby attractions, such as Uxmal Mayan, (an archaeological site) or local artisan villages.

Hacienda Santa Rosa is a renovated private estate located in the south-west of Yucatan Peninsula. The hacienda is a perfect home base from which to explore the Yucatan's many historic sites, such as Uxmal, a breathtaking Mayan ruin often overshadowed by the better-known Chichen Itza. Hacienda Santa Rosa is about a 90-minute drive from Merida International Airport or a four-five hour drive from Cancun.
