Rooms designed by Jean Nouvel
Modern cuisine
Central Lucerne location
It's a little cheeky, at first glance, naming your hotel The Hotel as if it's the only game in town. Especially in a place like Lucerne, Switzerland, which certainly has its fair share of luxury accommodations.
Investigate a little further, however, and you'll discover The Hotel is indeed worthy of its name.
Exhibit A: Consummate design quarterbacked by French Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel. No two rooms are alike, but all are tied together by similar themes. Racy ceiling artwork is by far the most noticeable (let's just say it's not the type of thing you're likely to find stateside).
Exhibit B: Six restaurants, serving cuisine from Thai and South American to French and Italian. Design is again key concern in The Hotel's restaurants (Latino Bistro Moderne & Bar is a particular favorite), but the food refuses to be outdone.
Exhibit C: Its enviable location in central Lucerne, close to first-rate cultural attractions, including symphonies and theaters.
