Four diamond restaurants
USD 195
Sure, the Inn at Perry Cabin looks quaint and bucolic now, but when it was first built shortly after the War of 1812 it was daring, brave, and defiant. The colonial mansion has since stood the test of time, and is now among Maryland's most cultivated getaways.
Less than 80 rooms and suites occupy the mansion, most housing ornamental touches - fireplaces, panelled walls, French doors - beautiful hallmarks of 19th-century design. The Linden Spa, considered by many to be the Maryland's finest, is similarly tasteful. Expect the full of range of treatments, from facials and massages to body wraps.
Ask D.C.'s elite, however, and they'll tell you restaurant Sherwood's Landing is the main attraction. British Master Chef Mark Salter serves comprehensive four-diamond cuisine to an eternally grateful clientele using fresh local ingredients and Eastern Shore flair. If possible, book a meal during Jazz Nights, when two senses are serenaded rather than one.
