About Kiwi Collection

The Kiwi Experts

Your cinephile pal gives you the 411 on what films are worth the 120 minutes. You mine the wine snob you know for the best Pinots (which you then pour for your friend in finance hoping his stock market tips pour out). The good news is, when it comes to travel, you’ve got a whole portfolio of pundits—The Kiwi Experts. Our collection curators, they pick the perfect properties for doing business, the hottest hotels for honeymooners and the best boutiques for design admirers. Now it’s time to get to know your new friends.

Jean Marie Healy

Jean Marie Healy is a lifelong New Yorker now based in both NY and London. Before joining the Kiwi Collection as Chief Marketing Officer and in charge of the Visa Luxury Hotel Program, she ran the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program, among other things. When there’s time to take a break, you’ll find her kicking up her Chanel ballet flats at one of her top three landing pads: The Ritz Paris, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxford or The Surrey New York.

Carrie Harrison-Ell

Carrie Harrison-Ell is Senior Vice President of Hotel Programs for Kiwi Collection and a mother of three, which means she can handle anything, particularly keeping people happy. An expert on family travel, Carrie’s not-so-secret pleasures include: romantic trips to Siena, wine and cheese pairings and everything about the Mayan Riviera. You’ll also find her enjoying the finer things at the SLS Beverly Hills and Montelucia Resort & Spa in Phoenix.

Brian Mumby

Brian Mumby is our Zoomer Kiwi Expert (Zooming Boomer!) After a very successful career building infrastructure across western and northern Canada, Brian was looking forward to continuing his passion for travel around the globe in a much more relaxed manner with his lovely wife Karen. Instead he met Philippe, and has been hard at work building Kiwi Collection ever since, while still continuing to zoom around as the President. Ask him about his recent trip to Chile where, after a week of clambering around the scorched landscape of the Atacama Desert, he soothed his parched throat in the wine district with memorable visits to La Casona at Matetic Vineyards and Lapostolle Residence.

Even Kiwi Experts need a little help from their friends. Helping ensure that no swell hotel is overlooked is a second group of travel tipsters that includes graduates of the world’s top hospitality schools, master marketers and one highly respected, well-traveled eco-expert. Meet the rest of our road crew.

Federica Antonioli

Federica Antonioli is a Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen, and that eye for high-quality trickles over into her role as Director of Hotel Programs EMEA (but we assure you, she’s much less temperamental). Educated at the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne, she worked as market manager for Splendia.com before coming on board with Kiwi Collection. While she expertly plans her sojourns before taking off, upon arrival she takes everything as it comes. Including cocktails. Find her drinking in every ounce of Mezzatorre Resort & Spa in Italy, Armani Dubai or Morukuru Lodge South Africa.

Farah Khan

Farah Khan Always on the move, Farah was schooled in Canada and has lived in the Middle East, Asia, Eastern Europe and most recently in Sydney, Australia where she served as Kiwi’s Director of Hotel Programs for Asia Pacific. Farah is now Kiwi Collection’s Director Hotel Programs for The Americas and when she’s not concentrating on adding new hotels to our collection in the US, she will find any excuse to visit Tokyo, her favourite urban escape, where she considers The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo the standard for the the ultimate 5-star experience.

Hitesh Mehta

Hitesh Mehta‘s dedication to our environment is infectious and impassioned. Dubbed as one of five Sustainable Tourism Pioneers in the world by National Geographic Adventure, he has worked in over 55 countries on six continents. Born in Kenya, he owns his own architecture and landscape architecture practice and is a true trailblazer in eco-lodge planning and design. Aside from being featured in over 110 international publications and authoring three books, Hitesh is one of five founding members of Ecotourism Kenya and continues to support his home country through his work and charity efforts.

John Nielsen

John Nielsen is a true Renaissance man who’s been part of the Kiwi family since 2006, which included a two-year stint as our Regional Director in Asia Pacific. His love of travel began with extensive travels as a child, continued with education throughout Europe and Asia, and working in senior management with respected hotels like The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and Crown Towers in Melbourne. As if that wasn’t enough, he also co-founded Liquid Assets Wine Storage in Melbourne and completed his Masters of Business with an added Master Degree in Tourism. Now based in Sydney with his family, John is the GM of a high-end catering company – that is when he’s not finding an excuse to seek out new destinations with stunning hotels and unique wines.
