We constantly scour the globe to bring you the best of the best in luxury lodging — and now we’ve taken the Collection a step further with the addition of our new Eco-friendly Hotels and Resorts category. Our Kiwi Experts have done extensive research to identify those properties showing the most innovation in important categories such as alternative energy sources (read about the Nihiwatu resort in Indonesia, which makes a good portion of its energy from coconuts). You don’t get any eco-friendlier than that.
But we couldn’t do it alone — even the Kiwi Experts need a little help from their friends sometimes so we enlisted the help of Hitesh Mehta, renowned author, international award winning architect, and eco-hospitality expert. Read more about Hitesh here.
TOP HOTELS

These luxury properties from around the
globe demonstrate an outstanding
commitment to our planet and are now
awarded the Kiwi Collection “Eco-Friendly” stamp of approval.
SELECTION PROCESS
Most hotels and resorts make an effort to look after Mother Earth, but here we highlight those that go above and beyond. Our selection process was similar to how our Kiwi Experts review and rate any hotel before inviting them
to join the Kiwi Collection; it was rigorous, diligent and done without partiality for brand, size or affiliation. We hope to continually add to this list. However, as we do with the rest of the hotels in our Collection, if a property should fall below our set of standards its eco-friendly
status will be rescinded.
