An Eco-friendly boat show pulls into Port Hercules

From September 24-27, 2008, the leading companies of the luxury yachting sector will return to Port Hercules for the 18th Monaco Yacht Show.

500 exhibitors and 28,000 participants are expected for 2008. Swiss watchmaker Blancpain will be participating for the ninth consecutive year, as will the Compagnie Monégasque de Banque, official sponsor since 2005. This year the press center is sponsored by Only Yacht insurance, the business center by ING Private Banking and the restaurant by Lenôtre.
The Monaco Yacht Show has supported the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy since 2001 (the Show's highly-admired CEO Luc Pettavino also finds time to chair the charity).

During the 2007 Monaco Yacht Show the charity auction Only Watch raised 2.7 million Euros and every year the show also donates 50 percent of its entrance fee to the Association. Since 2005, the Monaco Yacht Show has earned the Carbon Neutral label by paying an eco-tax to finance global environmental protection projects in association with Camper & Nicholsons marina management.
