Jean-Georges to open restaurant at Shangri-La
Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver will debut MARKET, the internationally acclaimed chef first foray into Canada and on the West Coast.

His Market restaurant occupies most of the luxury hotel's third floor, with its bistro area overlooking a dramatic lobby, an outdoor terrace above an outdoor art galleria, and other memorable dining areas.
WOW.travel was thrilled to be one of the first visitors taken on a hard-hat tour of the luxury hotel, in a glass-sided building with changing-color light disks which soars 61 floors above Vancouver's high-powered downtown central business district. The 119-room hotel is on floors one to 15.
We especially like the 1,400 sq ft one-bedroom corner suites numbered '02', which have enormous bathrooms with heated marble floors and steam showers, and Dedon-furnished decks with views north-west along West Georgia to Stanley Park, with the twin Lion mountain tops in the distance: the best view, of course, is from suite 1502.

architect James Cheng and Box Interior Design, CHIL Design Group and James Cheng.
All six rooms in the CHI spa have working fires, and there is an intimate indoor pool with underwater sound system using the same technology as 'O', by another great Canadian institution, Cirque du Soleil.
Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver, which is in the capable hands of RVP and General Manager Stephen Darling, also has a 45-seat screening room, an Urban Fare gourmet delicatessen and the Canadian flagship store for Burberry.
