A mile high view of Dubai
Nakheel Harbour & Tower will include hotels, retail space and huge expanses of green spaces, including canal walks, parks and landscaping
Dubai's skyline continues to evolve. Nakheel Harbour & Tower, designed by Woods Bagot, will change it yet further.
A mile high view of Dubai
HE Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai World, has announced Nakheel Harbour & Tower, which will include a tower nearly a mile high. The whole project will cover an area of over 600 acres and house than 55,000 people, with additional offices for 45,000 more.

Nakheel Harbour & Tower will incorporate elements from great Islamic cities of the past - the gardens of Alhambra in Spain, the harbor of Alexandria in Egypt, the promenade of Tangier in Morocco and the bridges of Isfahan in Iran. The new development is geographically central to the Emirate of Dubai, at the intersection of Sheikh Zayed Road and the Arabian Canal. It is set to minimize car use and maximize use of train, bus and water transportation thanks to a complete transportation hub that will blend into an inner harbor area with metro transportation combined with a unique water transport interchange, with Abra and Dhow station links.
The project will be managed by one of Dubai World's own companies, Nakheel. Its architects are Woods Bagot, whose Managing Director Middle East is Mark Mitcheson-Low. Wood Bagot were designers of the Burj Al Arab luxury hotel, Dubai, and among their other current projects is the $816 million residential and commercial element of RAK Properties' $2.7 billion Mina Al Arab project in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah: this will include 200 villas, 150 townhouses and 2,500 apartments.
