The City of Sunny Isles Beach (which calls itself Florida’s Riviera), is hosting the second annual Offshore Powerboat Challenge Weekend June 11-14, 2009.

Offshore powerboat race teams and fans from all over the USA stream into Sunny Isles Beach to get ready for the action-packed weekend.
Offshore Events will be hosting the 2009 Offshore Powerboat Challenge Weekend with support from The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Offshore Super Series, and the Miami-Dade County Parks Department.
At least 50 boats are expected to make this year’s Bimini Memorial Ocean Race, which will take place on Friday, June 12th, 2009: Gino Gargiulo will return with his Mercedes MTI Catamaran to defend the record time covering the 106 statue mile course in 1 hour and 44 seconds.
Saturday will bring the ThunderBoat Poker Run and testing for the

Offshore Super Series with the final race on Sunday, June 14th, 2009.
