Discover Art at Anantara
Paralympiad Greg Burns is artist in residence at Anantara Golden Triangle, Thailand
Tuesday, December 15, 2009
Greg Burns is at this beautiful luxury resort December 15 - 26, 2009, and again January 10 - 23, 2010 – and WOW.travel just wishes we could be there too, to take part in his series of art classes.

He will offer half-day through to two-day full workshops so you can capture the sights of the lush jungle, the elephant camp or the beautiful vista of Burma/Myanmar and Laos in the distance. He sounds oh so motivational (we know he has spent the last 20 years in the USA and Asia talking to audiences of up to 3,500 at a time sharing life’s experiences and offering motivation).

Greg Burns contracted polio as a kid, when his father was stationed in Jerusalem. He has been left with no motor nerves in his legs but, as he himself says, instead of American football, I've experienced a life of painting, travelling, trekking, swimming, scuba diving, producing documentaries, addressing large audiences as a motivational speaker, working as a regional Marketing/PR manager for PepsiCo Restaurants International. “Arguably, due to a disability that constantly motivates me to scale new mountains both literally and metaphorically, I border on being an over-achiever. Perhaps it all started when, petrified at the
age of four, I would ride the roller coaster simply because my older brother wouldn't. In time, I graduated to climbing mountains, competing internationally as a swimmer and backpacking overland throughout Asia for 16 months at a stretch. No doubt part of it is comes for a need to overcompensate or a need to prove myself. I've never been sure of how much is too much, as I have never had any role models. But more importantly, I've just done the things I wanted to do”, he says.
