| Anse Chastanet lies in acres of lush private rainforest with breathtaking views. The hotel has five staff to every guest, two silver beaches and three spas offering divine pampering - living the dream is not just a figment of the imagination. |
EXPERIENCEWhat were Caribbean hotels like before trade winds were replaced by blasts of air conditioning, when morning exercise was a walk on the beach and not hot water aerobics and when you sat watching the sunset instead of cable TV? You can still find out at Anse Chastanet Resort on St Lucia’s unspoiled southwestern Caribbean coast.
Anse Chastanet offers 49 individually designed rooms, 37 of which are scattered about a lush hillside and 12, which are nestled within a tropical garden at beach level. Anse Chastanet emphasizes the use of local woods and other local products in the room decor and furnishings, cushions and bedspreads are made from colorful cotton fabrics called madras, the island's national cloth. Even the resort bathrobes are locally made and have become a popular souvenir item! The furniture has been individually designed and handmade in the region with the exclusive use of the island woods such as teak, mahogany, green heart, red cedar and wild breadfruit. All rooms have fridges, electric tea/coffee makers and wall mounted hair dryers, and in-room safes, Deluxe and Premium rooms also have irons and ironing boards. A complimentary shuttle service from beachside to hillside level is provided any time it is requested. Facilities at the resort include 2 restaurants and bars, an excursions and car rental desk, 2 beachside boutiques, the Kai Belte Spa, Scuba St.Lucia, waterspouts center, art gallery, library, Bike St. Lucia and now also Kayak St. Lucia.
At Anse Chastanet’s Piti Piton and Treehouse Restaurant, they have created and celebrate award winning Tropical World Cuisine, blending Caribbean cuisine with other world cuisine experiences, from French to Mediterranean and from Fusion to New World cuisine. The resort is very actively involved with the island's local farmers to assist them in understanding which produce is essential to their culinary style; together with Anse Chastanet’s horticultural team, they have recently been further expanding the resort’s own gardens, cultivating fresh herbs and fresh fruits which are grown amidst the historical ruins of the Anse Mamin plantation, part of Anse Chastanet 600 acre estate.
The dinner menu changes daily and consists of a 4-course meal served in a romantic candlelit ambiance, surrounded by beautiful original artwork. Part of the Piton Restaurant is the Treehouse, where diners are seated in an open-air area amidst treetops as the name suggests. Anse Chastanet menus always include vegetarian options and the culinary team is also happy to meet dietary requirements at any time. Trou au Diable Restaurant serves lunch daily, the menu offers a wide and varied choice of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and creole specialties from a ŕ la carte menu, in addition to a large buffet spread with hot and cold dishes.
Located at beach level, the Kai Belté Spa was designed by architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy in the same airy and in harmony with nature style his resort guest rooms are renowned for, yet affording complete privacy. Professionally trained therapists offer a wide range of treatments, including Swedish massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology. Newly added services include shiatsu and Anse Chastanet’s own version of La Stone therapy, called Wosh Cho, patois for hot stone. Hair treatments include a tantalizing scalp and neck massage, based on Indian massage principles and reflexology. Also available are Ayurvedic treatments.
The guests can enjoy the following watersports daily and on complimentary basis: snorkeling, windsurfing, ocean kayaking and sunfish sailing. Snorkelers will take delight in the shallow coral reefs, which start right offshore and which are easily accessible. At a charge, escorted boat snorkel trips are arranged to other nearby snorkel sites. The Anse Chastanet beach attendants will be pleased to provide sunfish sailing and windsurfing instruction when required. St. Lucia's spectacular scenery offers many sightseeing attractions. The most dramatic ones such as The Sulphur Springs, St.Lucia's famous walk-in volcano, the Louis XVI Mineral Baths, the Tropical Rain Forest and the famous Twin Pitons are within a short distance of the resort.
