Inside, handmade Indonesian teak furniture - including a dining table for six - welcomes you to Bali. Italian fixtures crown the double-vanity bathroom, but in this beautiful setting you're partial to the outdoor shower.

Found next to the rushing Ayung River, the Balinese-style spa has three thatch-roofed couples' villas joined to outdoor bathing pavilions. Go for the Lulur Sayan, an aromatic body scrub and soak followed by a traditional island massage.

For more valley views, Bali up to teak Jati Bar. The river is spectacular from a gorge-side table at Ayung Terrace, home to some fine Balinese cooking.

LOCATION

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan is located in the Ayung River Valley near the center of the Indonesian island of Bali. The hotel is a 60-minute drive north of Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, the island's capital. Five times a day, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan offers complimentary shuttle service to the nearby town of Ubud.
