Fundu Lagoon is the epitome of a "bare foot paradise" with a distinct Robinson Crusoe air in a remote and peaceful location. It is a place for guests to relax and unwind in casual, yet stylish surroundings.

Fundu Lagoon is a remote and peaceful resort, only accessible by boat. Set on a beautiful beach in the south west of Pemba Island, it is privately owned and run with a love for the natural environment that surrounds it. The resort is the epitome of shabby chic – stylish, cosseting and totally relaxed. Fundu Lagoon’s main areas are open with thatched roofing. There are three bars, an excellent restaurant, a beautiful infinity pool, and a calming spa.

Wooden walkways and sandy paths lead to 16 Makuti thatched tented rooms and suites – all accommodations are spacious and private with breathtaking ocean views. The rooms are equipped with large double or twin beds, mosquito nets, ceiling and standing fans, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Some rooms are situated along the beachfront and the remaining on the hillside, which have wide views over the lagoon. Two of the 16 rooms are suites, with their own private chill out deck and plunge pool, and two are superior suites which also have an extensive indoor and outdoor lounge space and mezzanine platform.

Blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings, the resorts facilities are amongst the best in the region. From the open-sided restaurant, which offers outstanding international cuisine, to the three bars, every comfort is complimented by the soothing atmosphere of Fundu itself.

The Fundu Lagoon massage uses the art of ancient healing and its own range of blended infusions that capture the unique magic of the island and the foundation for healing essential oils – heavenly florals, precious woods, exotic spices and succulent citruses to nurture, sooth, clarify and enhance.

LOCATION

Fundu Lagoon is on Pemba Island, which is part of the Zanzibar archipelago and lies to the north of its larger, better known sister island, Unguja. The hotel is situated on a remote and beautiful beach on the south western side of Pemba, and is only accessible by boat.
