| Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli, located on the beautiful Italian shores of Lago di Garda, is an ultra-luxury retreat for world travelers in search of romance of the past with modern conveniences of today. |
EXPERIENCEGrand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli is a historic country property that offers the highest possible hotel service for the discerning traveler in search of beauty, graciousness and peace. The villa and its grand park were built in 1892 by the prominent Feltrinelli family and served as a summer escape. Since then, statesmen and artists alike have admired the villa and its lakeside views. Mussolini resided several years at the villa during World War II.
Design teams from around the globe were consulted about period features and stylistic coherence in the modernization of the villa to give the visitor the best of both antique elegance and modern comfort.
Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli offers 21 distinctive guestrooms and suites. Villa Feltrinelli was designed by the Milanese architect Alberico Barbiano di Belgioioso in the Liberty style. Similar to Art Nouveau, this style was inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites and the Neo-gothic school. The building's exterior is marked by a highly decorated façade incorporating large windows and small, castle like turrets. Painted in gold and terra cotta colors, the Villa is reminiscent of a Venetian palazzo.
Seven guestrooms in the main Villa feature hand painted fresco ceilings done in the 1890's by the Lieti brothers. All of the rooms are individually designed and decorated. They incorporate 70 pieces of original antique furniture that came with the Villa plus over 1000 antique or custom-made furnishings. Highly detailed, each room features such personal touches as silver framed black and white photos, handcrafted Venetian glass bedside lamps, hand printed Venetian paper desk sets and containers, and an eclectic selection of original art, featuring both dramatic oil portraits and historic prints.
Large bathrooms, measuring up to 500 square feet, feature heated marble floors, separate showers with tall oversized nickel-plated "deluge" heads by Lefroy-Brooks of London, and separate deep soaking Jacob Delafon cast-iron French porcelain bathtubs.
