| The Grand Hôtel is a classic landmark in the center of Stockholm with a long and fascinating history. |
EXPERIENCEThe Grand Hôtel Stockholm is Scandinavia's leading hotel and a much appreciated international meeting-place. Staying at the Grand Hôtel is an experience beyond the ordinary. The Grand Hôtel opened for the first time in 1874 and has a long and fascinating history. The rooms and interiors are unique, as is the hotel's location in the centre of Stockholm. The guests live and eat well, take part in conferences and meetings or attend dinners and banquets.
There are 43 single rooms at the Grand Hôtel. Some have windows overlooking the quiet courtyard and a few have a view over the harbor, Old Town and Royal Palace. As well as 240 double rooms of varying sizes at the Grand Hôtel. Some offer a view over the harbour, Old Town and Royal Palace while others face the quiet courtyard. Most also have a comfortable seating group. The Grand Hôtel's suites vary in terms of size, plan and style of decoration.
The Grand Hôtel also offers a number of larger suites with up to five rooms. The drawing rooms of these suites are called Parlours. One of these suites is the Bernadotte Suite, which was decorated by Sigvard Bernadotte, the uncle of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. The Bernadotte Suite has three rooms, a single and a double bedroom and a salon. The salon is red, the double bedroom green and the single bedroom blue. All suites have a view over the harbor, Old Town and Royal Palace. The Princess Lilian’s Suite is something above the rest. The interior has been inspired by Art Deco and nothing has been spared in order to create a beautiful experience in a league of its own.
Food and drink have always had a central place at the Grand Hôtel. Every day, a large number of people eat and drink in the Grand Hôtel's restaurant, the Grand Veranda. The Grand Hôtel's chefs, waiters and other restaurant staff put their heart and soul into their work. Knowledge, tradition and creative flair are just as important as the quality of the ingredients. Ever since the year of opening 1874, the Grand Hôtel has been building up an exceptional wine cellar. Today, it is undoubtedly one of the finest wine cellars in Scandinavia. The range is wide and the number of bottles now exceeds 20,000. The new and improved Cadier Bar is the perfect place for guests to enjoy an à la carte breakfast, brunch, lunch, plus evening cocktails in a relaxing atmosphere.
