EXPERIENCEHiiragiya is a luxurious two-storey wooden Japanese-style accommodation, also known as a Ryokan, which opened for business in 1818. Situated in the heart of old Kyoto, Hiiragiya offers the ultimate in Japanese-style living with accommodating staff that's helpful in initiating foreigners unfamiliar with Japan to the joys of a Ryokan. Hiiragiya also serves the finest Kyoto-style Japanese cuisine called Kaiseki on traditional ceramic pottery and lacquer ware.
Hiiragiya is a haven of simple design that makes artful use of wood, bamboo, screens, and stones in the spacious, traditionally arranged rooms. Hiiragiya has 28 rooms, 21 rooms in the main building and seven in the new wing. The Japanese-style rooms are exquisitely and individually decorated and most rooms enjoy a garden view. All rooms feature an ensuite bathroom with Japanese wood baths made of aromatic fir.
