Horned Dorset Primavera Hotel

The balcony off the Horned Dorset Primavera Hotel's lobby extends directly over the beach and the blue waters of the Caribbean. The Spanish revival, tiled roofed main building contains the library bar, the enclosed verandah, the Blue Room bistro, open for dinner seasonly, and seaside terrace and the formal main dining room.

Accommodations are in a series of suites that ramble uphill amid lush gardens. The decor is tasteful, with four-poster beds and brass-footed tubs in marble-sheathed bathrooms. Rooms are spacious and luxurious, with Persian rugs over tile floors, queen-size sofa beds in sitting areas, and fine linen. Bathrooms are equally roomy and luxurious.

Breakfast and lunch are served on the verandah of the great house. Dinner, for most guests, the main event of the day, is served nightly in the large formal second floor dining room with a black and white marble floor, mahogany furnishings. Silver and candlelight complement the five-course meal or eight course "tasting" dinners. There is also a sophisticated wine card.

Driving Directions:

From San Juan Airport, follow Route 26 in the direction of San Juan. Exit at Minillas tunnel, change to Route 22 in the direction of Bayamón/Arecibo (also known as the Parrot Route). Follow the Parrot Route signs to the second intersection with Route 115 in the direction of Rincón and turn right. (It will take approx. 2 hours from San Juan). Travel for about 4 miles. After the lookout tower and the seafood restaurants, take a sharp left onto Route 429 and travel about one mile. The hotel is on the left at distance marker Km.3.0.
