Houston’s Hotel Granduca will almost make you forget you’re in Texas with its Tuscan décor, fine Italian dining, and European-style hospitality.
EXPERIENCE
Metropolitan Houston generally doesn’t draw comparisons to Italy, but Hotel Granduca is an exception. Inspired by the Renaissance life of the Granduca of Monfallito, a warrior immortalized with a statue outside the hotel, this Uptown luxury boutique channels the spirit of Tuscany with its sienna walls and tile roof.
The hotel’s interior offers similar old-world charm, but the best feature of the 123 suites, from the 425 sq. ft. Deluxe Room to the 2,100 sq. ft Residenza Imperatore, is their spacious comfort. The fully-stocked kitchen, original Italian art, flat-screen TVs, and 400-count Italian linens would’ve even impressed the Duke, back in the day.
At the end of the day, you’ll want to head for an apperitivo at on-site Ristorante Cavour. Once you’re full, the pleasures of Houston await, whether you’re shopping at nearby Uptown Park Shopping Center, catching some theatre at the famous Galleria, or summoning the Duke’s competitive spirit to cheer at a Rockets game.
