A luxury hotel built entirely of ice and snow, the Hôtel de Glace is located on the shores of Lac St-Joseph, just outside Quebec City.
EXPERIENCE
Open from January to April, the Hôtel de Glace is North America's only ice hotel. Every year it's redesigned and rebuilt in its entirety, and every year the architecture and artistry become more impressive. Five-meter tall snow archways lead guests into the lobby, where it's impossible not to be transfixed by the enormous ice chandelier and innovative crystal ice sculptures.
At night, drink cocktails from the hotel's famous ice glasses, or relax in the hot tub or sauna. And then wander outside to marvel at the stars and at the Ice Hotel, which in the evenings, gleams like a precious jewel.
Guestrooms are individually designed with ice drawings and sculptures on the walls. Beds have a solid ice base, with a wooden bedspring and mattress on top, but don't worry: you'll be toasty warm. At bedtime, an arctic sleeping bag is delivered to your room. Or ask for a suite with an in-room fireplace, made especially for the Hôtel de Glace.
