The Indigo Hotel & Spa Patagonia is clean-cut and austere, harmonizing perfectly with the bracing winds of the Chilean coast that batter its walls at night. But in contrast to the rather rustic areas around it, the hotel’s design is also extremely innovative and modern.
The Indigo Hotel’s heart is, intriguingly, a tall, open void, decorated with little more than a sheet of eucalyptus spanning multiple storeys. The Nordic-inspired architecture therein comprises an intricate network of metal bridges and staircases criss-crossing between rooms and lounges. Not something you’ll see every day, to be sure.
The rooms are simple and sparse, but furnished with the crucial comforts — soft, wide beds, wireless internet, and stunning views of Patagonia. If you need more luxuries, head to the spa — with three rooftop Jacuzzis overlooking the ocean and mountains, your Patagonian outdoor adventure may end up more relaxed than you figured.
Indigo Hotel & Spa Patagonia is located at the very edge of the earth, or at least, it feels that way. The barely populated coastal town of Puerto Natales at the southern tip of Chile is sheltered by the tail end of the Andes curling around the coccyx of South America.
