Since it was built in 1897 Kingsbrae Arms has welcomed international guests. The legendary house parties of the first owners brought artists, poets, writers, and statesmen to the inn. Over the years, change has come. Most recently, a renaissance has been sweeping the town giving new life to gardens and golf courses, galleries and harbor.

In this re-vitalized setting Kingsbrae Arms is something of a dream - a splendid country house once again receiving guests in an atmosphere of warmth, friendly hospitality, and conviviality. Kingsbrae Arms retains the intimate scale of a private country house with gracious proportions. The house is reserved for their registered guests. The downstairs rooms are not open to the public. When you stay at Kingsbrae Arms it becomes your home away from home. Naturally, there are times when even a quiet moment by a fire, or browsing books in their library give way to the desire for the solitude of your own room.

Each one at Kingsbrae Arms is uniquely decorated and sumptuously appointed for the ultimate in comfort. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and enhanced by feather top beds, down and feather comforters, ample sitting areas, plush bath towels and fine linens, luxurious bath products, spa robes, deep soaker bathtubs - many with whirlpools, fireplaces, TV, CD clock radios, private phones with data ports, hair dryers, irons and an abundance of personal touches provided by the staff from sunrise through turndown each night. All of their suites have separate living rooms and balconies with sweeping views of gardens and sea. Premium suites have fully stocked wet bars.

Driving from the United States, Kingsbrae Arms can be reached in three hours from Bar Harbor; four hours from Portland; six hours from Boston; nine hours from New York City. St. Andrews is just beyond the Canadian border across the St. Croix River. There is an international bridge at Calais, Maine. In Canada, the inn is five hours from Halifax; seven hours from Quebec City; and eight hours from Montreal.
