Forward-looking, bold, and chic to a tee, Klaus K is much like Helsinki itself. It's also perfectly located in the center of the action.
EXPERIENCE
It sounds like Santa's ultra-modern toy factory - where hipster elves make iPhones and minimalist furniture - but Klaus K is in fact Helsinki's hottest boutique accommodation.
Too many hotels confuse style with pretension. You'll find all of the former and none of the latter in the Klaus K's 135 rooms and two suites. You'll also find a whole lot of extras, including custom-made beds, LCD TVs, and all kinds of high-speed internet (wired or wireless, take your pick). Rooms range in size from 160 sq. ft. to 590 sq. ft.
Two onsite restaurants serve Finnish cuisine - if the pastries don't get you, the soups will - while the Ahjo bar warms you up after a day of town. Speaking of which, head no further than a couple blocks for some of Finland's best shopping. The National Opera, Design Museum, and Parliament buildings are also within walking distance.
Helsinki is Finland's biggest city, as well as its political and cultural capital. Half a million strong, the city sits on the Gulf of Finland near the Baltic Sea. Klaus K is located downtown, about a half hour from Helsinki International Airport.
