Want to holiday like the sons of Rome? Historic La Posta Vecchia celebrates la dolce vita on the shores of the Mediterranean.
EXPERIENCE
In the Getty Suite at stately La Posta Vecchia, you reflect on the 17th-century villa's fascinating history. These are the former lodgings of U.S. industrialist J. Paul Getty, who bought the property in 1960 and restored it to its original glory. He also filled it with regal furniture and artwork, and uncovered the ruins of an ancient Roman villa, now part of an archeological museum on the premises.
With just 19 rooms and suites, each one uniquely decorated, La Posta Vecchia is no ordinary hotel. You can't believe the view of the Tyrrhenian Sea - or the fact that this secluded getaway is so close to downtown Rome.
Keep enjoying that vista over superb Italian cuisine at The Cesar Restaurant, where chef Michele Gioia cooks with vegetables, fruit, and herbs from the hotel's organic garden. And if you decide to cycle the coast or visit one of the many nearby historic sites, unwind with an Ayurvedic body treatment at the spa.
