La Residence

Set on a 30-acre farm featuring vineyards and gardens, La Residence overlooks the mountains surrounding Franschhoek Valley, whose name ("French Corner") refers to its early settlers, but also the Mediterranean-like climate.

La Residence's 11 spacious suites are each themed with sumptuous color-schemed art and antique furniture to match, including the Tibetan (bright oranges) and the Armani (urbane blacks and neutrals). All suites have sunny balconies and breathtaking mountain views.

The elegant dining hall serves inventive cuisine prepared with local ingredients, veggies plucked from the hotel garden, and the best in local wines. Be sure to try the house-made bread and fruit preserves.
