Just because it's exclusive and very elegant doesn't mean Lake Placid Lodge isn't cozy. Every room has a fireplace, hot-tubs abound, and a nightly bonfire warms you on those cold Adirondack nights.
EXPERIENCE
The great outdoors are a wonderful place to visit, but they're even nicer when you can retire to Lake Placid Lodge after a long day. With breathtaking mountain and lake vistas, a fireplace in every room or cabin, and rustically elegant decor, this is everything a mountain lodge should be. And yes, you can have s'mores.
Each of the 34 rooms and cabins is unique, with custom twig and birch bark furniture, a private porch, and deep-soaking tubs to warm up a chilly body (or two). You'll find that same rustic charm in the farm-to-table cuisine at Artisans restaurant downstairs. Ask to dine in the walk-in wine cellar for a private, romantic treat.
Summer at Lake Placid Lodge means long days full of hiking, canoeing, and fishing. In winter, you're 30 minutes away from the spectacular skiing on Whiteface Mountain, which boasts the largest vertical drop in the East, at over 3,000 feet. After a snow-day, drop by the nightly outdoor bonfire for hot chocolate and those s'mores.
