Built in 1870 as the private home of the Count of Valenças, Lapa Palace is a lot to take in. The building itself is stately, though the exterior only hints at the grandeur inside. The grounds are sprawling and beautiful, full of palm trees and a rainbow of flower bushes. And the view over the Tagus River and Lisbon's skyline tops it all.
