EXPERIENCE

The boat only just returned you to dry land, and you're already aching for another dive among the brilliant coral reefs of Lizard Island. But it'll have to wait, because next up is a Cooling Hot Stone Body-Facial treatment at Azure Spa. You also need to fit in a secluded stroll - picnic basket in hand - along another of the Australian island's 24 white-sand beaches.

Or you could just pull up an Aussie timber squatter chair and take in the 270-degree view of the Great Barrier Reef from the Pavilion, one of 40 modern villas at Lizard Island. All of them offer beach access and an open-plan design, but you're partial to the Pavilion's plunge pool and its waterfront enclave, found at the end of a private path.

When it's time for that next dive, charter the resort's 51-foot Fascination III. The vessel also offers superb reef fishing for everything from mackerel to black marlin - while back on the island, chefs are standing by to prepare your day's catch.
