Tucked away in an eastern township of Quebec Canada, Manoir Hovey is a heartbreakingly romantic composition of lakeside splendor and picturesque isolation created without a hint of pretension.
EXPERIENCE
At some point during your stay at Manoir Hovey you must experience the satisfying pull of a wooden paddle bracing against the side of a canoe as it whisks the cool and clear water of Lake Massawippi into tiny little whirlpools. And, once the canoe comes to rest, take a moment to appreciate the crisp whitewashed walls of this once private residence. It is true Canadiana without a hint of kitsch.
Located on 35 private, lakefront acres, Manoir Hovey's 41 rooms range from quaint to presidential with thoughtful touches like Italian Marble, wide planked flooring, whirlpool tubs, and in some cases, canopy beds. Outdoor activities abound, but undoubtedly the most rewarding undertaking at Monoir Hovey is dining. The wine cellar is superb and be sure to leave room for the legendary cheese cart which is reputed to be the biggest in all the province and stocked with local raw-milk and artisan cheeses.
