The Neri Hotel & Restaurante is situated in a small XVIII palace, which has been totally restored and refurbished with total respect for the features of a building from that period. This hotel and restaurant has 22 select rooms and a carefully chosen menu. It also has a lounge-library and a solarium terrace looking over the cathedral and the roofs of the Gothic quarter. The location of the Neri Hotel & Restaurante has been important in defining its decoration. The Gothic is a built up quarter, which is why an airy and spacious hotel has been intended. Guests will be immediately comfortable in all its rooms, but at the same time will be surprised by its anti-conventional decoration and by the magic of every corner - an undefined decoration, which mixes original elements from past centuries with the avant-garde.
All decoration and design has been focused on this concept. What matters there is to delight the senses, and for this reason sight, sound, aroma, touch and taste are the main players. Colors play a basic role in the decoration of the Neri Hotel & Restaurante. Each of its three floors has clearly defined themes which is displayed in the heads of the beds. Thus on the first floor, which has only one Suite, silvers and golds dominate. On the second floor, all the painting at the head of the beds are of flowers. Finally, on the third floor there are colourful landscapes. This is the lightest floor of the Neri Hotel & Restaurante and it has four junior suites with bamboo-walled terraces.
The sense of sound is reflected in the music of the public areas of this hotel and restaurant. Above all, it is relaxing, but in it is mixed the multi-cultural heritage, which historically has defined the Gothic quarter, where people of all races and cultures have lived. Thus, the techno-ethnic rhythms mark the background of the hotel, situated in what has been the center of Barcelona since Roman times. The hotel has a special aroma that seeks sensuality in essences, soaps and candles in every corner. Sensuality is the basic idea that has been sought in this aroma; a mixture of acacia and lavender, giving rise to a scent of fresh wild flowers. The touch is present in each and every one of the textures, which make this establishment a unique hotel and restaurant. Not only wood and stone, but also velvet and iridescent fabrics that offer incredible tone changes.
The sense of taste has also been carefully considered, especially when preparing the time consuming meals included in the succulent menu of the restaurant, in which the typical aromas and spices of old Mediterranean cooking are indispensable. The lobby of the hotel has a very special presence: An enormous circular light that welcomes you. Painting similar to that of the stonework of the central courtyard has been able to be restored in the façade of this hotel and restaurant.
