EXPERIENCESydney may not be a very old city, but it has quickly become one of the world's most intriguing. Whether in town to do business, have some fun or - better yet - a bit of both, the Observatory Hotel is where you'll want to be.
Situated near Sydney's historic Rocks and central business district, the Observatory Hotel is also near the inner harbor area and Sydney Harbor Bridge. There is something inspiring about Sydney's laid-back sense of style and its unpretentious inhabitants. Entering the Observatory Hotel is like walking into a gorgeous, sophisticated home; welcoming but not stuffy, cozy but not clingy, and full of perfectly appointed rooms. You can even bring your favorite pet along ... just make sure you're not the one ordering off the Scooby Doo room service menu!
Stay in and make the most of the hotel's five-star hotel restaurant, "Galileo," its world class Day Spa, or gorgeous star lit indoor pool and gym, or head out and explore Sydney. Either way, you can't go wrong. RECOGNITIONThe Observatory Hotel is part of Orient-Express Condé Nast Traveler - Gold List, Best for Service - 2009

Its simple rectangular lines sit elegantly beneath a magnificent domed ceiling that resembles a brilliant Southern Hemisphere sky filled with twinkling stars – a fiber optic display that captures the vast openness of the Australian sky. The configuration of the stars has been based on old astronomy charts for the month of November.
There are hundreds of stars of four different sizes. A fiber optic tube links these. A plate, which sits between the light and fiber optic nest, creates the twinkling – heat causes it to rotate and create the flickering effect.
Alternatively of you are looking to swim in the sea, trips to the world famous Bondi and Manly Beaches can be arranged. www.observatoryhotel.com.au/web/osy
