EXPERIENCERiad Meriem is a five-suite riad located in the heart of the Medina of Marrakesh, a popular Morocco vacation spot. It was designed for discerning visitors seeking a more personalized luxury hotel break in this enchanting city. Riad Meriem is the unique and highly personal vision of its Manhattan-based owner and designer, Thomas Hays. Hays used local and internationally sourced materials, as well as a color palate derived from the natural pigments of the Arab landscape, lush gardens and cool running water combine to create a tranquil and intoxicating oasis that engages all senses.
Suites at Riad Meriem include the Star Suite, Matisse Suite, Aubergine Suite, Ivory Suite and the Red Suite. Each suite has its own style and décor using a fusion of oriental textiles, paintings, custom lighting fixtures, ancient Moroccan wall treatment techniques and fine art photography.
The terrace offers the experience of sunbathing and lounging in a spacious and surprisingly peaceful environment surrounded by bougainvillea, olive trees, pomegranate bushes and jasmine with a view of the Koutoubia and the Atlas mountains. Many guests choose the terrace to enjoy wonderful breakfasts as the sun rises over the Atlas mountains, midday lunches, and for eating some of the finest Moroccan dinners by candlelight, a truly unforgettable experience. The Bhou (patio lounge) is a favorite for guests enjoying evening drinks by candlelight, with a romantic view of the oriental plunge pool overlooked by stunning bougainvillea and palm trees.
