EXPERIENCESeikoro means ‘the house stood tall at the bank of Kamo River in fine weather’. As name the suggests, Seikoro Inn is located east of the famous Kamo River, surrounded by famous shrines and temples such as Kiyomizu Temple and Yasaka shrine. First opened for business in 1831, Seikoro Inn has seen Japan's transition from the Samurai dominated Edo era to Modernism of Meiji and Taisho era.
Seikoro has 22 rooms, 13 in the main building and nine in the Annex. All rooms are traditional Japanese style rooms with antique decor. Some rooms in the main building face the Japanese Garden and built with Sukiya or Shoin style residence construction. Room decor changes to match the seasons.
Seikoro Inn offers Kyoto style Kaiseki Japanese cuisine. Guests can enjoy wonderful dishes with attention to the details while being served in your own room. LOCATIONThe Kamo River is situated in Kyoto, Japan. It is 31 km long and is a tributary of the Yodo River. The riverbanks are popular walks for the residents and tourists. In summer, restaurants open balconies looking out to the river.
