When the Faessler family fell in love with Vail, they knew they had to bring their Sonnenalp brand of traditional Bavarian hospitality to the popular resort town in the Colorado Rockies. The hotel they opened in 1979 blends European luxury with the down-home comforts of the American west.
The Sonnenalp's 115 suites range from 490 sq. ft. to 1600 sq. ft. and feature custom-made Bavarian furniture, gas-log fireplaces, and heated floors in the bathrooms.
After a day of skiing the famous slopes of Vail, dine in one of the hotel's restaurants, which offer a range of contemporary American, traditional European, and southwest cuisine.
