Located on the tip of Vancouver Island, Sooke Harbour House offers spectacular views of the ocean and mountains. The restaurant is widely recognized as one of the best on this marooned piece of coast.
EXPERIENCE
When you arrive at Sooke Harbour House, keep your eyes open - you just may see a group of seals frolicking in the ocean, or a family of river otters running by.
This white clapboard boutique hotel was originally built in 1929. Each of its 28 rooms boasts breathtaking views of the Juan de Fuca Straight, a private balcony or terrace, a comfortable sitting area in front of a wood-burning fireplace, and decorative furnishings designed by local artisans. As you stroll the grounds, you're likely to see sunbathing seals, playful otters, even the occasional whale gliding through the waters.
The restaurant at Sooke Harbour House has been applauded again and again by local an international publications, and is perpetually improving. The menu changes daily and offers authentic Pacific Northwest cuisine featuring local seafood caught the same day and organic greens grown in the hotel's expansive "edible landscape" kitchen gardens.
