The Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa, an Art Deco gem in fashionable uptown Dallas, has been the envy of Dallas hoteliers since its 2008 renovation.
EXPERIENCE
The Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa underwent extensive work in 2008, to the tune of almost $36 million. Thankfully, the final result is more restoration than renovation, with the luxury hotel's original 1920s Art Deco charm still intact, even augmented. Its 170 rooms and suites are rich in tone - decked in deep reds, cheerful blues - and punctuated by Art Deco flourishes that reign in the modern fixtures and amenities.
Bolla Restaurant, perhaps the most welcome 2008 addition to The Stoneleigh Hotel and Spa, serves Italian-influenced American cuisine in what might be Dallas' most chic setting. Seared foie gras leans beautifully into beef tenderloin with truffle-onion crumble, followed by a delectable cheesecake cannoli.
The Spa at Stoneleigh, occupying 5,200 subterranean sq. ft., was also enhanced in 2008. State-of-the-art fitness facilities were added, but the real allure is the unique treatments, which include pregnancy sculptures (a.k.a. belly casts) constructed while mom waits.
