LOCATION

The Tabacón Resort is hidden away in La Fortuna de San Carlos, a village in the heart of the Costa Rican rainforest. From San José, it's a scenic three-hour drive through the small town of San Ramón de Alajuela, but don't worry, there are plenty of roads to guide you once you approach the volcano. The locals do recommend starting out in the morning to avoid late-afternoon fogs, which can get heavy.
