Takatu Lodge is architectural and contemporary in style using natural wood, stone and marble to compliment its surroundings. Glass walls allow sun to shine through and to capture the stunning views of the surrounding vineyard, mountain ranges and sea. Attention to detail and individual needs are anticipated for guests to unwind in a peaceful setting among the vines. It is a unique experience and opportunity to stay on a working vineyard where guests may enjoy the highest standards of elegance and comfort. High vaulted ceilings, open log fires inside and out, a cozy library, and outside landscaped rooms are a few of the many architectural features.

Relax in one of the specially designed lodge suites. Areas are spacious and optimize the spectacular surrounding views and countryside. Each suite caters for ultimate privacy, elegance and comfort where optimizing nature and natural products is essential. The lodge has four luxurious and exclusive suites, each with their own terrace and individual outlook. Attention to detail and individual needs are anticipated so unwind in a peaceful setting.

Breakfast features seasonal fruit servings, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and locally made breads and produce. As much as possible the lodge supports regional and organic growers. The Takatu Wine List features New Zealand, Australian and European fine wines. Of course Takatu produces its own fine white wine Pinot Gris and red wine Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec. All these can be purchased on premise. Pre-dinner wine tasting is an opportunity to sample wines from the renowned boutique vineyard, with hors d'oeuvres or antipasti platter.

Takatu Vineyard is situated on a warm north-facing hillside above Matakana Village. It has the ideal aspect as it is sheltered from the prevailing cool south-westerly winds and the summer heat is moderated by a gently sea breeze from the nearby Pacific Ocean.
