The Capital Hotel provides all the advantages of a large establishment, yet exudes the warmth, intimacy and attention to detail, which only a privately owned hotel can offer.

EXPERIENCE

The Capital Hotel is unique. This luxury hotel was created over 35 years ago by Scottish proprietor, David Levin, who envisaged a grand hotel in miniature. It is still family owned and family run to this day. A liveried doorman greets you, a fire burns in the front hall's open hearth, and welcoming courteous staff await to whisk away baggage before escorting you to the comfort of one of the forty nine individually designed rooms and suites.

Rooms and suites at The Capital Hotel are elegant and supremely comfortable, each with their own specially selected fabrics, wallpaper, and original paintings. Beds are beautifully made for The Capital Hotel with hand-stitched mattresses from renowned specialists, Savoir. Super-king size in suites and double rooms, all have fine cotton linens and wonderfully large down pillows and duvets. Magnificent solid marble bathrooms are equipped with large bathtubs as well as relaxing showers and even the bathrobes and toiletries reflect the attention paid to every detail.

The Capital Restaurant is legendary. From its opening in 1971, it became one of the first hotel restaurants in Britain to be awarded a Michelin star. In 2001 the restaurant and Head Chef, Eric Chavot, were awarded a second Michelin star which is retained to this day.
