The design of the hotel building is an architectural makeover that respects the past and embraces the future. Each of the hotel's 41 rooms and suites is individually designed to provide the ideal blend of color, texture and atmosphere. The rooms are decorated in various themes including Klasbols, Loft Rooms, Kimono, La Carmona, Manhattan Suite and Garden Rooms. Klassbols Rooms feature colors of red and grey with Asian style cabinets, room divider screens and lamps, which make for a warm romantic theme. The Loft Rooms offer understated color schemes with tints of white, beige and natural wood. Kimono Rooms feature navy and black with dark Belgian marble, black flooring and oriental china. La Carmona Rooms are warmly colored with the combination of ginger and turmeric colors. There is only one Manhattan Suite and it is definitely one of a kind. Hundreds of meters of delicate silk in black and gold are used to give this suite its opulent look. The greens of lavender and rosemary create a wonderful atmosphere in the Garden Rooms, which feature linen draped four poster beds.
Guests wishing to dine exclusively will be expected in the intimate atmosphere of the hotels gourmet restaurant. The cuisine of The Dylan Amsterdam is characterized by a mixture of international dishes which are both traditional and modern. Enhancements to The Dylan Amsterdam include Josephine, a small private dining space that has been redesigned with turquoise walls, a color popular in 17th Century interior design. Already one of the city’s most popular cocktail spots is the newly created Bar Barbou. The design features natural accents, such as silk window treatments and antique wood frame armchairs reupholstered in black leather.
