Raising the standards of what's cool, The Shore Club on Miami's South Beach boasts two restaurants and four bars, making it a hot spot for the international jet set and local clientele.
EXPERIENCE
The Shore Club is like a piece of modern art: crisp, edgy, and vivid. The lobby alone is worth visiting. With an Art Deco design, it has a polished terrazzo floor, lit metal wall mural, and sheer curtains, with sofas and floor cushions for lounging.
Designed by famed British architect David Chipperfield, rooms have a minimalist white-on-white color palette, with custom-designed furnishings. Bathrooms are glass-enclosed "wet" rooms with teak furniture and Mexican sandstone floors.
Spend the day in the Florida sunshine by two infinity-edged pools. Sample one of 75 different rums at Rumbar. Take to the spa, a serene 8,000 sq. ft. rooftop facility.
Food lovers won't be disappointed by the offerings. NOBU serves Japanese with a Latin twist, while AGO (co-owned by Robert DeNiro) offers Tuscan cuisine to a hip Miami clientele. Later, have a drink in the Redroom Garden - like an outdoor living room with tropical landscaping and Oriental decor.
The Shore Club is located on Miami's South Beach, within walking distance of Lincoln Road. Private transportation to and from Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale Airport is available; it's a 15-minute drive and a 30-minute drive to each, respectively.
