Hotels for Kids
Boca Raton Resort, The Waldorf Astoria Collection, Florida, USAWith golf clinics from six years up, and tennis from four, and sandcastle building and inner tube races, and beach tennis and volleyball, and kite flying and ocean trampolines – wow, this is the place for action. For relaxation, nothing beats floating in the pool, watching kids’ movies and eating s’mores. Parents will love the new-look of this ageless resort.

Kids’ menus here are served in bento boxes. You have a choice of American, Italiano or Irish, which comes with potato and smoked bacon salad, Irish salmon fillet with green beans, Potato cake with spring greens, Irish cheese sticks and pineapple, and a Banana split. Mothers love the great shopping on Grafton Street, five minutes’ walk away.
VIC is aimed at Plaza Kids and their really-old teen siblings who have stayed or who are going to stay at the hotel. Record your special wishes before your stay. At the hotel, there are pint-sized bathrobes, and teddy bears with their own red sleeping bags (and your yummy mummy gets red leather slippers, specially designed by Loewe).

The three-level, jungle-themed indoor club here, open 8-to-8, is one of most attractive we have seen. Add to this ice skating, husky sledge and horse carriage excursions, and visits to the fire station, plus cooking and baking classes, and the indoor swimming pool, and outdoor tennis. Parents, of course, love King’s Club, where the best people-you-want-to-know hang out at night.
The Atlantis Kids Club, from four years up, focuses on supervised activity - two climbing walls, a working theater, arts and crafts, and baking bread and cakes. Their elders can try rally driving, golf, tennis, snowboarding, and skateboarding. Aquaventure playground has seven heart-pumping water slides – two catapulting through shark-filled lagoons, and learn about dolphins and marine life.

KidsOnly is hosted by Martin Killinger, six, and his sister Bianca, three, children of resort GM Stephan Killinger. The club has its own pool, computer room and amphitheater. Enjoy cooking, hermit crab racing and personal swimming lessons – even up to swimming with dolphins (you will have a swimming passport as reward). Mums will love the ESPA and, also a favorite, a Bastien Gonzalez pedicure, which includes divine foot massages.
Kids from two to five have Paintbox Petite, and those five to 12 have Paintbox, both clubs with outdoor adventure, creative expression with arts and crafts, and imagination with games and activities suitable for the age group. There is a marine biologist on the staff, and whale-watching is always fun. Parents, meanwhile, can spa, dine, or enjoy the bluff overlooking the Pacific.
