“Upon check in, you feel as though you have walked into the foyer of a grand imperial palace, not just one of the most stylish hotels in India.” So writes Colette Dinnigan  of one of her favourite hotels, the Imperial in New Delhi, in a novel ambassador series for a luxury hotel referral service, the Kiwi Collection.

Now Eight years old, with offices in Vancouver, London, and Sydney and more than 2300 hotels in 23 countries, Kiwi Collection acts as a global guide for the discerning.  In 2009 Forbes magazine in the US branded the service, “the Michelin Guide of the luxury-hotel industry”.

But Brad cocks, Dinningan’s partner and Kiwi Collection’s Sydney-based man in the Asia-Pacific region says it “caters to all tastes and budgets and ranges, from affordable and hip urban hotels, to lavish palaces and far-off locales”. Kiwi just makes sure they are independently reviewed and appropriately rated and that their rigorous standards are diligently monitored and maintained.

Its reviewing arm has just been augmented by the Ambassador program, where Dinnigan is just one of a number of leaders in the fields of fashion, design, and the visual, culinary and literary arts – people such as Marc Newson, Neil Perry, Rosy Byrne, Tim Maguire and Kathy Lette – whoa re reviewing hotels in the collection at www.kiwicollection.com/ambassadors.

“I saw how my partner, Collette, worked with Audi in their ambassador program,” says Cocks. “It brought a lot of attention to their brand and product. They chose their ambassadors not on celebrity but on craft and we felt that suited out project too.”
