Experience Royal Luxury at Oberoi Hotels & Resorts
by Eva ZhuIn 1934, Mr. M.S. Oberoi pioneered the idea of luxury hospitality in India by opening his first hotel. Today, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts still practice the same simple philosophy that began with Mr. Oberoi: value each guest as a friend and family. This joy is found in every gesture, grand and subtle, at all Oberoi hotels, which today include properties across India, Asia, Middle East and Africa.
THE OBEROI UDAIVILAS, UDAIPUR, INDIA
Located in the City of Lakes in the Kingdom of Mewar, The Oberoi Udaivilas is modeled after a traditional Rajasthani palace. Resplendent gardens and a building of interconnecting domes, spread across 30 acres on the banks of Lake Picholo, reflect the layout of canal-linked Udaipur itself. Winner in the 2020 Kiwi Awards’ Best Hotel Pool category, its many rooms and suites open to semi- or fully private pools. Fine dining is enjoyed indoors under a vaulted dome, or under the stars to views of the lake and historic City Palace. The Oberoi Spa offering both Eastern and Western treatments, plus daily yoga, takes care of wellness.
THE OBEROI MARRAKECH, MOROCCO
Inspired by the ancient palaces of Morocco, The Oberoi Marrakech is set on 28 acres of Mediterranean orchards, surrounded by fragrant citrus trees and centuries-old olive groves. The ornate design of the main courtyard reflects that of the Medersa Ben Youssef, one of Marrakech’s most famous historic sites. Inside are spacious Andalucian-style rooms, including villas and suites that open to terraces and courtyards with private pools. The restaurants serve authentic local cuisines, which can be paired with terrace views of the Atlas Mountains. And at The Oberoi Spa, located on a natural water body, there are Moroccan and Ayurvedic treatments, as well as hammams and herbal therapies.
THE OBEROI SUKHVILAS SPA RESORT, INDIA
Named “One of the World’s Greatest Places” by Time Magazine in 2018, The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort sits at the foothills of the Himalayas, against 8,000 acres of Siswan Forest Range. It’s an oasis of landscaped gardens, reflection pools and traditional architecture. There are Mughal-inspired rooms and villas, plus luxury tents closer to nature—they’re inspired by the caravans of the British Raj, and some are equipped with air-conditioning and private pools. Whether here for a weekend retreat or month-long detox, the tailored-made itineraries include personalized Ayurvedic and wellness programs, fine cuisines and activities in the forest.
THE OBEROI, AL ZORAH, UAE
Just a short drive from Dubai is The Oberoi, Al Zorah, a sophisticated retreat framed by white sands, mangroves and a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. Thoughtfully designed with wide open spaces, the bright and spacious rooms and suites open to garden and ocean views, and the villas offer private pools. Languid days here are spent in endless leisure—playing watersports, lounging poolside or enjoying holistic spa treatments. When mealtime arrives, a Fish Sommelier helps in choosing the freshest catch of the day, to be enjoyed under sunlit pergolas or by romantic candlelight.
